Our path back to the majority involves not only holding onto our strongholds in south-central and southeastern Wisconsin but also reaching out to the other 70 counties. We must connect with voters in these areas, addressing their concerns and presenting viable solutions.
The WisDems Forward ticket represents a powerful coalition of experience, representation, and energy. Together, we will make our party more inclusive, more connected to our communities, and more prepared to win — not just the next election, but the ones after that.
We’re not just running for positions — we’re building a movement to move our party forward. We hope you’ll join us in this mission.
Mayor Bryan Kennedy on why he is running for DPW Chair
Bryan Kennedy is in his 4th term, and has served for 10 years, as Mayor of Glendale. Bryan was elected three times to the Glendale school board before that. With Bryan as our DPW Chair, we get an experienced local and national leader, a dedicated Democrat, and someone who believes in the grassroots organizing that has powered the success of our state party.
Mayor Kennedy is the national President of Democratic Municipal Officials, the largest constituency group in the DNC, representing tens of thousands of Democrats who hold local office on city councils, school boards, village boards, water commissions, mayors, city clerks, and many other local offices. Bryan sits on the DNC, representing DMO.
Bryan has served the greater Milwaukee community for years. He chaired the Milwaukee County council of mayors and village presidents for three years during the height of the COVID pandemic. Since 2019, Kennedy has served on the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Commission. Kennedy works nationally as part of Climate Mayors, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, and Mayors Alliance to End Childhood Hunger.
A fourth-generation union member, Kennedy has maintained his membership in the American Federation of Teachers-Wisconsin since stepping down as state union president in 2013.
